Our 38mm core barrels with a 1″ 1/4 back end are manufactured in-house by Cutting Edge Diamond Tools in Sydney and Melbourne, giving us complete control over quality, consistency, and performance. Built to suit precision drilling applications, these barrels come standard at 450mm in length, with custom lengths available to suit any job requirement. We maintain strong stock levels, meaning these barrels are kept on the shelf and ready for immediate dispatch, backed by exceptionally fast manufacturing times to minimise downtime on site.
For 38mm barrels, the cutting head is supplied as a crown rather than segmented, with the option of either a soft bond or hard bond configuration depending on the material being drilled. A soft bond crown is designed for harder materials such as high-strength concrete or heavily reinforced substrates, allowing the diamond to wear at the correct rate and stay exposed for consistent cutting performance. A hard bond crown, on the other hand, is better suited to softer or more abrasive materials, as it holds the diamond longer and prevents premature wear. Like all our barrels, these are built for longevity and can be retipped multiple times using our cost-effective retipping service—maximising lifespan and reducing overall tooling costs.
